Alyssa Termini

Culinary Careers Programs, Philadelphia

Alyssa has spent the last eight years at Culinary Careers Programs (C-CAP) Philadelphia, where she works with high school culinary students, guiding them toward careers in the hospitality industry and helping them secure scholarships. Alyssa is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, where she earned a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts and Food Service Management.

Before moving to Philadelphia, Alyssa honed her skills in the high-energy world of luxury weddings and events in Newport, RI. Now based in South Philly with her dog, Roux, she continues to inspire the next generation of chefs and hospitality professionals working with 20 high schools and 1,600 students across four counties.

One of Alyssa’s favorite aspects of teaching is imparting the "soft skills" that are often overlooked in culinary training—like communication, punctuality, accountability, attitude, teamwork, and customer service—which are essential for success in the industry. But when it comes to hands-on teaching in the kitchen, nothing beats sharing the joy of making gougères.

As part of her work, Alyssa loves collaborating with chefs, restaurants, teachers, and educators in the Philly region and beyond.
