Jane C. Mitchell
Culinary Arts/Hospitality Instructor/Career and Technical Education/9-12
With a lifelong passion for food and hospitality, Jane has dedicated her career to sharing her love for cooking, preparing, and serving others. Her journey began as a teenage server, and over the years, she built her own specialty dessert business, spending countless hours experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. However, her true calling lies in introducing the world of Hospitality and Culinary Arts to the next generation.
For the past 18 years, Jane has served as a Culinary Arts and Hospitality instructor at North Montco Technical Career Center in Lansdale, PA. She works with high school students in grades 9–12, teaching Front-of-the-House service, Hospitality, and Restaurant Management. As part of her role, she oversees the operations of the school's student-run restaurant, which opens to the public twice a week for breakfast and lunch, providing students with real-world, hands-on experience.
Her dedication to excellence has led to the success of her students, including two National SkillsUSA winners in "Restaurant Service," with a third student recently competing for a national title. For Jane, the joy of inspiring and preparing students for careers in the culinary and hospitality industries is both a fulfilling and rewarding mission.
