Jane C. Mitchell
Culinary Arts/Hospitality Instructor/Career and Technical Education/9-12
I have always been involved with food in one way or another my entire life. From my humble beginnings as a server in my teenage years to owning my own specialty dessert business the love of cooking, preparing, and serving people is what I was meant to do. It is not unusual to find me in my kitchen for hours on end experimenting with new recipes. My true passion however is opening up the world of Hospitality/Culinary Arts to our youth. I am now a Culinary Arts/Hospitality instructor at North Montco Technical Career Center in Lansdale, PA. This is my 18th year working with high school students in grades 9-12. I teach Front-of-the-House service, Hospitality, and Restaurant Management. I oversee the operations of our student-run restaurant which is open to the public, for breakfast and lunch, two days each week. I have had two National SkillsUSA winners in "Restaurant Service" over the past few years and most recently have a third student competing for a National title. It is a rewarding career and I really enjoy working with my students and preparing them for the world of work!
