A native Philadelphian, Barbara-Jo attended a Pennsylvanian Academy of Fine Arts. She has served as a President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of International special events society, now known as ILEA, and served for two years as international membership chair. She is a board member of the Louise Nevelson Foundation. She is a proud mother of four daughters and 8 grandchildren.
